ethical WARES are one of the world’s longest-running vegan shoe stores. It was founded all the way back in 1993 with only two styles: green and black boots. They’ve come a very long way since those early days to become the provider of one of the largest selection of cruelty-free footwear, clothes and accessories.

They unite their commitment to animals by offering cruelty-free products with their commitment to people by offering Fair Trade products. It is still a very much family-owned business that also operates a farm that takes care of about 50 animals.

Vegan Shoes for Women

Variety goes a long way at ethical WARES ; You can find a great selection of practically every type of shoes. They offer some very nice and elegant dress shoes (although not a huge variety), but the majority of the designs lean towards the casual.

The highlight is without a doubt the boots collection. There are dozens of amazing boots to choose from, including high heel, medium heel and flats; regular boots and knee-high boots; buckles and laces – every possible design is represented here and you’ll be hard-pressed not to find at least few that you just have to have. A great example would be the Berry boot and the Misty boot, which comes in a variety of colors.

There’s an excellent range of casual shoes as well. ethical WARES offer great sneakers (Converse style) and there are many flat shoes to choose from: the Ladies Jazz, the Cameo and the gorgeous Espanol line of shoes are a prime example.

If you’re looking for summer shoes then ethical WARES has that covered with a special section called, well, Summer Wear. They offer sandals in a huge variety of designs and colors – happy summer colors – which some are good as beachwear and some just for nice hot weather.

The store is very easy to browse and you can filter according to size, price range, manufacturer and even color. Sometimes you can get lost between mountains of shoes on some sites, but on ethical WARES it’s all quite simple and you can find the selection you want with just a click or two.

Women’s Accessories

ethical WARES offers a huge collection of vegan accessories, even including things like jewelry, incense, toiletries, nail care products and liptstick.

They have a large collection of vegan bags, from casual backpacks to elegant bags in a variety of colors. The prices are surprisingly low. I would expect well-designed vegan bags – always a hot commodity – to be more expensive but the selection is great and very affordable.

They also offer purses, belts (although more casual, and t be more specific the hot rock/punk look).

ethical WARES also sell every type of clothes known to man, or in our case woman: shirts, pants, skirts, sarongs and even clothing for children.

Vegan Shoes for Men

If you’re tired of seeing the same designs of vegan shoes repeating itself in some stores, then ethical Wares have none of that. Their selection stands out, as it’s unique and original. Their variety of casual shoes, and especially dress or work shoes is fantastic. Some shoes are for the wild at heart, with special one-of-a-kind designs, while others are more classic. You’ll find beautiful elegant shoes for all occasions, without sticking to the same old shtick.

The Union Street shoes are excellent and definitely worth checking out, as are the Kapital and Hans Blick shoes. Very special and will get noticed for sure.

The boots selection is incredible, with a wide variety of colors and height. You can find very elegant boots for work or even special occasions, like the Buckle boot the Sloan boot or the Scandinavian boot. There are also great casual boots that don’t give that tired “I’m just a plain boot” vibe, like the fantastic Desert Boot line from Union Street that comes in several great colors, or the unique Oban boot.

ethical WARES also offer some more diverse footwear, like Goth/Punk boots, dance shoes, Creepers, walking and hiking shoes, sandals and more.

Men’s Accessories

ethical WARES offers a nice collection of men’s belts, mainly casual ones. They will make you tougher just by wearing them, since they’re very rock-y. No more Mr. nice (vegan) guy.

In terms of bags and wallets, they don’t currently carry much selection for men, but you will find a very wide selection of general accessories, like shirts, sweatshirts, hats, keyrings, socks and pouches.

Vegan Shoes for Kids

ethical WARES don’t sell vegan shoes for kids right now, but they do offer some Fair Trade toys for toddlers.

Payment & Shipping

ethical WARES accept credit cards debit cards, PayPal, Euro cheques and banker’s drafts/cheques. Payments are secured by Sagepay and they never store credit card details.

Orders are shipped super fast: UK orders are usually sent on next day delivery, while EU orders  arrive within 2-3 working days and to the rest of the world within 3-4 working days.

Customer Service

ethical WARES are a small family business and as such provide personal and attentive support to customers. They are friendly and will answer questions and handle requests quickly, as their customers’ satisfaction is something they truly care about.

They can be contacted via phone and through social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and virtually all other social platforms except Snapchat (but those users tend to be 14 year-olds anyway, right?)

You can even request callbacks when browsing through the various items; you’ll find a Callback Request option in the bottom-right area of each product page.

You can return items you’ve bought within 14 days and either exchange them or get a refund. Make sure you go through the guidelines and make sure they haven’t been worn etc.
